The Easter Sunday Mass, while simpler in ritual than the Easter Vigil, celebrates with equal joy the heart of our faith: the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. It follows the usual Sunday liturgical structure, without the extended readings or dramatic ceremonies of the Vigil. Yet, in every word proclaimed and in every Eucharist celebrated, the miracle of the Resurrection is made present.
On Easter morning, the Church rejoices in the light of new life. Through the risen Christ, we are reminded that death has been conquered and hope is restored. Every Easter liturgy is an invitation to renew our Baptismal identity and live as a people of the Resurrection—called from the tomb to walk in the light of life.

The Music Ministry supports the singing and worship of the congregation. Such a wondrous ministry requires many gifts of talent, time, and treasure. We strive to put our parish’s many gifts to work so that our most important work may be made possible to engage fully through service and participation in our worship as the Body of Christ.
Our religious education program is offered for the children of our parish. The classes taught in the CCD Confraternity of Christian Doctrine program not only educate children about Jesus and the Catholic faith but, also, prepare children to receive the sacraments of Penance (Confession), the Eucharist (Holy Communion), and Confirmation. The schedule follows the Union Public School schedule as closely as possible. Information regarding registration is published in the church bulletin. Click here for the CCD class schedule.
The Sacrament of Baptism is normally celebrated on the second Sunday of each month. A Preparation Program is required for first-time parents. New parents should register for the Baptism as soon as possible after the child’s birth by contacting the Parish Office. Please, Click here for the Baptismal Registration Form.

For those following the readings of daily Mass in Lent, the Biblical best has been saved for Holy Week. The book of the prophet Isaiah contains four separate descriptions of a "Suffering Servant"--a shadowy figure called by God to suffer and give his life for the people. Today we read the first description of the Christ-like Suffering Servant. Isaiah shows him as chosen by God and patiently preaching justice to the nations. It is almost a description of the dedicated, patient Jesus. The Responsorial Psalm is the prayer of the Suffering Servant.

So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying, "Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!" And Jesus found a young ass and sat upon it; as it is written, "Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your king is coming, sitting on an ass's colt (Jn 12:13-15)!"

The curtain is about to go up on the tumultuous events of Holy Week. This Mass reminds us of the meaning of those events. The plan to kill Jesus is approved and justified. It means the birth of a New Covenant, the New Testament. And in a sense we are there. --The Vatican II Weekday Missal
